I would urge you to give one more time before we close the year out. When the press reports on this next week, you can bet that $20 million is going to sound a lot nicer than $19 million!

I sold one of my gold coins yesterday, in part so I would have money to give to Ron Paul today. This is literally the most important presidential campaign of our lifetimes, and if Ron Paul doesn’t win, our fortunes may well become worthless anyway. Our lives may well be forfeit in the next world war. And our sacred honor? What can we say of that if we cannot say we did everything possible?

This week, there are hundreds of people here in New Hampshire for Operation Live Free or Die. They’re standing out in the freezing cold, planning to sign wave for Ron Paul in the middle of today’s snowstorm. Over the last week they’ve distributed so many yard signs that the campaign can’t even keep up with demand. And they’re going to be doing this right up until primary day.

For the last two weeks I’ve been telling everyone that Ron Paul needs money sooner, rather than later, since the campaign has to pay for advertising in advance and it takes several weeks from the time the money is spent to get ads on the air.

Today the campaign sent out an email confirming and reiterating this point. This is it, in full:

During the first few days of October, we announced our fundraising goal for the fourth quarter: $12 million raised by December 31.

But there’s more: we need to have spent it by then, too.

If we were to raise the entire $12 million in the last week of December, we would meet our fundraising goal for the quarter. But Ron Paul would stand little chance of winning the Republican nomination, because that money would have come in too late.

Time is of the essence. You see, we need to raise money well before we plan to spend it. That’s because most of the expenditures that we make need to be paid for weeks in advance. For example, we need to buy crucial airtime for the end of December right now.

The sooner we raise this money, the sooner that we can spread Dr. Paul’s message - our message - in the early primary states. Time truly is money.

Fact is, we only have about two weeks to raise money for the early primaries.

If you wait a month from now to donate, your money will only be spent after Iowa caucus-goers and New Hampshire primary voters have made up their minds.

We are rapidly running out of time. The Iowa caucus is just 44 days away. New Hampshire is in 49 days. With so much ground to make up, we can’t afford to waste a single day.

As a result, we are spending faster than the rate at which we are raising money. In October alone, we raised $2.8 million, but our campaign spent over $3.1 million.

We cannot afford to wait for bursts of press activity. What we need is sustained attention in the news. What better way to do this than by continuing to raise money at a rapid pace now? We need to keep our momentum going.

Help us win in New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina, and Nevada.

While there are a very few people out there who are more interested in pursuing their own individual agendas on the back of Ron Paul, it’s likely you aren’t one of them. It’s likely you want to see Ron Paul succeed. The only way he can do that is to get donations in the next two weeks.

Because of the critical importance of raising money now, we’re going to change gears a little. Please join Ron Paul Christmas, become Santa and deliver donations of $50 or more on Monday, November 26 and again on December 3. (Then stick around if you like and contribute $25 or more each Monday through the end of the year.)

Media attention is useless if we lose the primaries! And to win the primaries, Ron Paul needs your donation now! I’m digging deeper into my own wallet to make absolutely sure that I’ve done everything I possibly can do.

As you’ll recall, the grassroots campaign, which spread virally like wildfire over the Internet, netted over $4 million from 37,000 individual donors on November 5th, shattering records and catapulting Ron Paul ever higher in the esteem of the mainstream media, who used to say he has no chance to win, but now say that he is threatening to upend the Republican nominating process.

And it’s the money that does that.

We here at Ron Paul Christmas are big supporters of both of these money bomb campaigns, and I personally donated on November 5th, and I will participate in the Tea Party money bomb on December 16. But I also started, and I’m also participating in, the Ron Paul Christmas campaign to bring in donations every Monday, because I know that Ron Paul needs continuous cash flowing in, sooner rather than later, so that he can have new radio and TV ads made, and so that he can purchase airtime for them, as well as do more direct mail campaigns, as soon as possible.

Ron Paul Christmas also allows people to participate who perhaps have budgeting problems and may not be able to afford to give large amounts of money all at once, but can easily give small amounts spread out over time. That’s why we suggest giving $25 or more every Monday after you get paid, or if you get paid every two weeks, giving $50 or more every other Monday after you get paid.

These donations will help ensure that Ron Paul can continue to saturate the radio and television media with advertising, and fill voters’ mailboxes with the message of freedom, peace and prosperity, in these critical early primary states, prior to and after the December 16 money bomb.

Ron Paul’s first TV ad for New Hampshire generated significant controversy across the country as supporters panned the ad; some even threatened to withdraw their financial support if the ad weren’t pulled or changed.

(Here in New Hampshire, the ad actually went over very well with real live voters.)

The Ron Paul 2008 campaign announced Wednesday that CNN has asked it for a 30 second TV ad to run during the CNN/YouTube debate on November 28. And the campaign has said it will run the best grassroots ad you can make.

We’re adults and we don’t need any far-off bureaucrats treating us like children. Especially when their false claims of “making us safe” ring so hollow.

That’s why Ron Paul’s third TV ad running in New Hampshire strikes a chord here and is sure to bring in support.

It has everything to do with Hillary Clinton’s policies on the Mideast Wars and her curtailment of civil liberties. She wants to keep soldiers in Iraq until at least 2013, and wants to attack Iran. And she supported the Patriot Act and other crackdowns on ordinary Americans.

Those are just a couple of the reasons that Democrats and independents are losing interest in Hillary and picking up the Ron Paul ball.

A few more, in the wake of yesterday’s massive $4 million fundraising haul, courtesy of ABC News:

Ron Paul’s extra $4 million will help him with his advertising push in the four early primary states: New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina and Nevada, and he’s on track to reach his $12 million fundraising goal for the quarter.

But it’s still not enough. On February 5, another two dozen states will have their primaries, and winning those is critical to getting the nomination.

You can help by joining Ron Paul Christmas and donating $25 or more every Monday from now until the end of the year.

But this is no time to let up. The Ron Paul campaign has set a fourth quarter fundraising goal of $12 million to bring radio and TV ads to the early primary states.

I don’t think that’s enough.
